Evidence-based, Trauma-informed, and Neuroaffirming Psychologist

I am Sophie, a warm, compassionate, and authentic Psychologist.
Working together, I build a sense of agency with people in a way that is evidence-based, client-centred, and trauma-informed. I am collaborative and transparent, providing validation and empathy.
I always strive to be safe and affirming of experiences as part of LGBTQIA+ communities, neurodivergent communities, or particular to cultural, religious, or spiritual background.
I see adults 18 years and over for trauma-informed, evidence-based, and neuro-affirming psychological counselling.
I can help support you with:
- Anxiety and stress
- Trauma
- Depression
- Big emotions
- Life changes
- Coping with chronic health conditions
- Relationships and communication
- Grief and loss
- Identity and meaning challenges
- Learning difficulties
- Managing differences in executive functioning
- Managing sensory differences
- Difficulties relating to body image and/or eating
I use evidence-based approaches informed by attachment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, biopsychology of the autonomic nervous system, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. I adapt to what a person needs, and take feedback as we go on your level of comfortability. I take an anti-oppressive intersectional approach informed by my experiences in the justice and education sectors, and by the social model of disability.
